*I received an e-book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

I’m going to try something new starting with this review. I’m calling it Word Vomit. Yep. A jumble of words that are my thoughts/ reactions on this book in one short burst. Ready?

Word Vomit: Dark, Good Fall Read, Confused, Just Kiss Already, Confused, Ugh just tell each other how you feel, Are These Dreams in Real Time or Future, Wait What?, Why Would it End Like This?!, I Still Don’t Really Know What’s Going On.

Let me know what you think about Word Vomit! Or maybe I should call it something else? Like, Word Spew?

Plot. It has been a hot minute since I’ve read a paranormal book. This story was really unique. Events take place after the main character dies. Well, still not clear if she’s dead yet but something like that happens. Isabeau is thrust into a world she never knew existed. It’s kind of a re-telling of the Grim Reaper mixed with Irish Folklore. I have never read anything like that, so I found it really interesting. Now, I will say that I found this book to be REALLY confusing sometimes! I still do not know what is going on really, even at the end of the book! I hope book two covers that better.

World Building. Morineaux’s take on the Grim Reaper and magic are really cool! She did a great job building a whole entire society based on death and magic. I could imagine her world really well.

Characters. I actually liked all of the characters except for Liam. Liam was just super annoying and whiny. But Isabeau, Gideon, and all of the side characters were super interesting! I hate to compare things but Gideon reminded me A LOT of Rhysand from ACOTAR series. SWOON! Isabeau kicks a$$ and takes names, man! She is so cool! She’s got an edgy vibe to her that I think she uses as armor. Because underneath, she just wants to be hugged (or more depending on who we are talking about… ;))!

Final Thoughts. Again, I found this book to be confusing on what Isabeau is. I still have no idea what is going on with her. Why she is there, what she is, who she is, how she got there. When I was reading this book, I thought it was a solid 3 star for me. But I kept thinking about it and thinking about it, so I bumped it up. AND THAT ENDING!! WHAT THE HECK?! I need to read the second book NOW!!!

Happy Adventuring

I have loved reading ever since I can remember. As a child, I often heard the words, "Please put down your book for one second!" That still hasn't changed as an adult! I am always reading at least two books and I will always have one on me!
