Hey bookish lovers! Once again I am hoping to read 4 books this month! And three of them are ARCs coming out in the next couple of months! So keep an eye out for those non-spoiler-y reviews!

As you can see from my last post, I picked up Mistborn at the end of June. I am hoping to finish this first week of July! It’s so good y’all! I personally think it lives up to the hype! This is my first Sanderson book (Unless you count him finishing The Wheel of Time series) and like any person with no self control, I have already looked up fan-art and started reading about the Cosmere… Whoops. I just jumped in there.
First of all, can we all gawk and drool over this cover? Okay, now that we’ve got that out of the way…. The Forest Queen! I cannot wait to sink my bookish teeth into this one! It is a retelling of Robin Hood with a female! Heck to the yes! Betsy Cornwell is also the same author as Mechanica!
Releases from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt on August 7, 2018.
And let us also take a moment to ogle this cover as well. Grim Lovelies is probably one of my most anticiapated reads this year. With a lot of really cool Fantasy elements, I am hoping this will wow me! An animal enchanted into a human, Anouk dreams of living free in Paris! Seriously, this sounds so freaking awesome.
Releases from HMH Books for Young Readers on October 2, 2018.
I am really hoping to get to this debut author, Alexandria Warwick, first novel, The Demon Race. It sounds like an amazing horse back riding adventure that anyone would want to go on… if your horse is actually a shadow demon seeping darkness into your soul. I honestly don’t think I have ever read something like this and I cannot wait to see what it has in store!
Releases from Wolf Publishing on September 18, 2018.
This month looks like a very promising reading month! What are you reading this month?
Once again, I plan on reading four books this month. We’ll will see if I get through them. (This page contains Amazon affiliate links. They will take you to the description of the book with the option to buy.)
- Starlit (The Reigntime Series Book 2) by S.K. Levy – I started this one in May and hope to finish it the first week of June!
2. The Legacy of Beauregarde by Rosa Fedele – I received an ARC of this book set in Australia. It is a Suspense / Noir book and I’m excited to try something new! This book is not yet listed for sale so I will update the link when it is!
3. The Demon Race by Alexandria Warwick – This is also an ARC I received and am very excited for. A girl races on a shadow demon that slowly devours her soul. Um, heck yes. (Link takes you to Goodreads.)
4. The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1) by Brandon Sanderson – I have been longing to devour this book for a very very long time! This was chosen for a book club I am a part of and I can’t wait!
I so badly hope I get to all of these this month!! What will you be reading?!
Hey y’all! Let’s talk May reads! I read two fantastic books this month! I wanted to read four books but life happens! Anyways, I’m really happy that it was a five star month for me! Check it out! (*Note: Clicking link takes you to Amazon. They are my affiliate links.*)
I gave this one five stars! I thought the character development was written beautifully. I didn’t think I was going to like Tella but she ended up having a depth to her that made her relatable. The world building was done really well too. Magic has a price. The Fates and the religious system seem based off of greek mythology, which I thought was fascinating. I need more of Jacks, and Dante please! They were both very interesting characters I want to know more about! And as always, Garber’s writing is pure magic.
Jay Kristoff will forever be one of my favorite authors. He slays me every time. So, obviously I gave this book 5 stars. I mean, come on, Mia is friggin’ cool! She has shadow powers which in of itself is unique. I haven’t seen that in a book yet. And she basically goes to Murder Hogwarts (as my friend lovingly calls it). I have to say that I thought she was just going to be an unfeeling stabby stab lady but no. She had actual feelings and a sort of moral code she won’t break. It did start out a bit slow (like first 50 pages) but then crap hit the fan! I need a shadow cat and I need to read Godsgrave right this second.
I’d love to chat! What did you read in May? And have you read either of these books?
